Wayne LeBlang was elected to the Master Association Board in May 2016.
Wayne received his Bachelors degree from Virginia Military Institute, and did graduate studies at the University of Illinois and Northern Illinois University. He left the U.S. Army after 5 ½ years with the rank of Captain, then went to work in the brokerage business. His 30-year career centered around the financial services industry. Wayne retired in 1999, after serving as a Senior Vice President and National Sales Manager for Oppenheimer Mutual Funds.
He served on the Board of Directors in the 1980s for Vulcan Industrial Packaging, a publicly traded firm that went private in 1989. In addition, Wayne was on the Board of Directors at Ivanhoe Country Club in Illinois from 1985-1991, eventually serving as its President. During that time, he chaired a committee to write the rules and policies for the club and its community. He also oversaw construction of the new 27-hole course and its 35,000-square foot clubhouse, which earned recognition from Golf Digest as one of the top new private courses that year. Wayne also been on the boards of Magnolia Foods and Marathon Acquisitions.
He currently is on the PGA WEST Residential I Board of Directors, and serves as its Treasurer. He’s been on that Board since 2012.
Wayne has been a member of The Club at PGA West since 1985, and has also owned property at PGA WEST since then.
Wayne and Judy, his wife of 39 years, have three nieces and a nephew they dote over. In his spare time, he enjoys golf, fishing, and hunting. He’s also an antique clock collector and repairer, a home fix-it man, and a die-hard Los Angeles Angels fan.
